Arab Leaders for Freedom and Democracy & Spinelli Group commissioned Inventio to organize this public debate on the future of the Arab world, following the citizen movements of the Arab Spring.The debate brought together a series of leaders from the Arab world, including Naguib Sawiris (Egyptian businessman), Shehab Wagih (spokesperson of the Free Egyptians movement), Yassine Brahim (former Tunisian minister, executive director of the Republican Party), Mahmoud Jibril (former Prime Minister of the Transitional Government of Libya), Awn Shawkat Al-Khasawneh (former Jordanian Prime Minister), Dr. Salam Fayyad (former Palestinian Prime Minister), Ahmed Hariri (President of the Lebanese Future Movement), Fawaz Tello (member of the opposition to the Syrian regime), as well as Koert Deboeuf (political analyst on the Arab world for the EU, former representative of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe for the Arab world) and Guy Verhofstadt (former Belgian Prime Minister, MEP and President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe).
The 150 or so participants in the audience were able to interact with the panel of speakers by asking their questions directly or through a tweetwall.
